La Divina Commedia è un’epopea del XIV secolo: Alighieri ha scritto un’allegoria di un fantastico viaggio nell’aldilà per esprimere visioni molto profonde su filosofia, religione, politica e scienza.
Il poema è strutturato in tre sezioni principali: Inferno, Purgatorio e Paradiso.
In ‘La Divina Commedia Project®’ ogni sezione è guidata da un artista diverso.
Francesca Pedretti è la creatrice di questo esclusivo concept Tribal Fusion che nelle diverse edizioni dal 2014, ha coinvolto molti dei migliori e più innovativi artisti Tribal Fusion provenienti dalla scena internazionale: questa serie di eventi comprendono la realizzazione di uno spettacolo in solo due giorni di workshop, con un cast selezionato di ballerini locali che sono stati così audaci da candidarsi per danzare con i propri beniamini e sostenere la sfida!
Lavorando con diversi tipi di approccio all’improvvisazione alla danza e all’interpretazione, ogni artista ha guidato i ballerini alla scoperta del poema più importante della letteratura medievale italiana: “LA DIVINA COMMEDIA” di Dante Alighieri.
Nel Febbario 2014 il progetto debuttò a Milano. Da allora Divina Commedia è stato presentato a Jesi, Monfalcone, Roma, Belluno, Firenze, Palermo, Leichester (Gothla UK), Parigi, Padova, Riccione, Napoli e New York ; inoltre sono state presentate tre versioni composte solo dallo spettacolo a Viareggio (Tribal Umrah), Barcellona (Tribal Experience Festival) e Namur. L’ultima edizione ‘La Divina Commedia Project@’ World Virtual Edition, totalmente virtuale, è stata prodotta nel Dicembre 2021 da San Lò Online e diretta da Francesca Pedretti e Isabel De Lorenzo .
Nel 2023 abbiamo creato 2 edizioni dilute, cioè costituite da workshops distribuiti durante l’anno accademico, lavorando sempre con lo stesso gruppo.
Nel 2024 abbiamo raggiunto il decimo anniversario: 10 anni di diffusione del progetto, di danza in Italia e all’estero, 10 anni di selezioni e spettacoli! Per questa meravigliosa occasione abbiamo creato un’edizione speciale, nello stile originale, basata su un casting, un week end di lavoro e una performance in teatro!

La Divina Commedia Project®
Francesca Pedretti is the creator of this unique Tribal Fusion concept show, which is a performance with a unique and very original format. In the several editions from 2014, many of the best and most innovative Tribal Fusion artists from the international scene were involved in this events’ series. In only two days we set a number of workshops with a selected cast of local dancers who were so bold to accept this challenge. We run the performances in a one night show.
Working with different kinds of improvisational approaches to dance and drama, each artist led the dancers to the discovery of the most important pieces of Italian medieval literature: “LA DIVINA COMMEDIA” written by Dante Alighieri.
La Divina Commedia is a long Italian narrative poem composed in the 14th century. Dante Alighieri wrote an allegory of a fantastic journey in the afterlife world and he talks about very deep concepts about philosophy, religion, politics and science.
The poem is structured in three main sections: Inferno (Hell), Purgatorio (Purgatory) and Paradiso (Heaven). A different artist works for the preparation and the creation of every section of the project, which brings different styles and visions. This is why the idea of The Divine Comedy Project® is always different and exciting!
After the first edition in Milan in 2014, we performed in Jesi, Monfalcone, Rome, Belluno, Florence, Palermo, Leicester (Gothla UK), Paris, Padova, Riccione, Naples, and also New York. Three special editions were composed only for the shows in Viareggio (Tribal Umrah), Barcelona and Namur. On December 2021 we presented the 17th edition called ‘La Divina Commedia Project®’ Worl Virtual Edition. It was a totally online project.
In 2024 we reached the 10th anniversary: 10 years of spreading the project, dancing in Italy and abroad, 10 years of selections and performances! For this wonderful occasion we created a special edition, in the original style, based on a casting, a weekend of work and a performance in the theater!
